The Flash Is Coming To TV: Here’s Your First Look

With the success of Arrow and Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the small screen superhero trend isn't going anywhere. In fact, it's officially taking over the airwaves. The latest masked crusader to join the fray is The Flash. For those of you in the dark, he's the one who can run fast. Like, really fast.
Newcomer Grant Gustin will play Barry Allen, the forensic scientist who gains lightning quick speed after a freak accident. The show is scheduled to begin filming next week, and will air on The CW, the same network that scored big with the aforementioned superhero hit, Arrow.
This may be the start of a Flash renaissance, as Warner Brothers is reportedly developing a feature film based on the classic superhero. The first Flash comic was released in 1940, which means there are enough Flash storylines to go around. Our favorite is the one where Scarlet Speedster (Barry Allen's alias) attempts to make his girlfriend breakfast, realizes he's out of eggs, jets off to the supermarket to buy said eggs, and returns in five seconds flat — without her ever noticing. Okay, so maybe that's not a real storyline, but it should be right? (The LA Times)
