Mark Zuckerberg Is No Scrooge, Donates A Billion Bucks To Charity

There’s no turning your cheek to the ubiquitous conversation surrounding Silicon Valley’s global impact and the ever-expanding tech bubble. Facebook, Google, et al...we get it. But, for as much as we harp on said subject, we're tipping our hats to Mark Zuckerberg's latest move.
According to Business Insider, the Facebook CEO is playing Santa this year, reaching way down deep into his pockets: Zuck has offered a staggering $990 million worth of shares to a few, choice charities. He's donated 18 million shares to be exact (clocking in at $55 each) to The Silicon Valley Community Foundation and The Breakthrough Prize In Life Science. However, the timing of the efforts is a bit eyebrow-raising (even sparking a few protests), as fiery discussions about the tech industry’s contributions to society and S.F. continue to thrive. Well, regardless of where you stand, there's no denying that Zuckerberg's actions are incredibly generous. Talk about a Christmas wish come true.
