Whether you're a regular rider or new to the world of public transportation, you're probably already acquainted with the difference between a nice station and a "I wonder when they're going to renovate this" one. But, while you wait for those necessary improvements on that elevated platform you stand on every day, a brand-spankin'-new station is in the works that you'll want to stop off at even if you're not traveling through The Loop.
DNAinfo Chicago reports that
"a large stretch of elevated Loop tracks above Wabash on the eastern side of The Loop is in for a massive, $75 million modern transformation," which is exhibited in a series of renderings that we unveiled on Sunday. Servicing the Brown, Green, Orange, and Pink lines, the station was strategically chosen for a revamp since it's considered a "gateway for Millennium Park and the Loop, as well as transform the public’s perception and expectation of public transportation in Chicago."
But, don't worry about making any alternate commuting plans just yet. The construction isn't due to start until next fall. However, it will take about two years to complete. Who knows? Gas prices might be down by then...Click here to read the entire story on DNAinfo Chicago.
