Kris Jenner’s Talk Show Cancelled (We’re Not Shocked)

Though the buzz momentarily spiked when Kanye West came on to reveal photos of baby North, Kris Jenner's talk show has been cancelled by Fox, according to Radar Online. “There is no chance the talk show is going to get a green light from FOX," a source said, explaining that "the ratings were averaging an abysmal 0.8 and advertisers were less than enthusiastic about it.”
Jenner later Tweeted that the rumor was false, though an official denial has yet to come from Fox:
Why do we care, you ask? Well, if this rumor is true, it might be one indication that the Kardashians' power is not endless. While their show and other off-screen ventures certainly wield enormous power of press and hatred-fueled public interest, the fact remains that you just can't translate that into a show with actual, even somewhat lofty, goals of entertainment and usefulness. The premise of reality TV has always been and always will be watching people's lives turn into smoldering train wrecks, and we can all agree as a culture that as much as we do indulge, it's probably not a great thing. Talk shows, on the other hand, while they are often rife with inane chatter and easily-debunked bold statements about a number of issues (as well as their fair share of train wrecks), at least tend to engage and involve viewers in more relevant and interesting discussion about the issues of the day. And, what's more, when a talk show host is good, we can really fall in love. Ellen and Oprah, for example, have great power of influence and are also positive forces in the lives of many.
So please take note, TV people — sometimes, Americans do want a bit more than the standard reality formula. Sometimes. (Radar Online)
