Whatever you think of his performances, songs, and videos over the past year or so, the news is plain unfortunate. Well, it seems like the singer isn't ready to give up on their marriage, and he's being remarkably public about it. As he told a TMZ cameraman at a Washington D.C. airport, "I'm just trying to get her back." Cue the tears.
As you can see below, not only does Thicke clearly state that he wants to save his marriage, but that his performance with Miley Cyrus at the VMAs had absolutely nothing to do with the split.

Matter of fact, this whole video is notable for Thicke's graciousness. TMZ's staffer here is obviously poking into places uncomfortable for him and, frankly, us. We can't remember the last time we witnessed a celebrity address these kind of very personal questions with such honesty and calmness. Maybe it's the beginning of a charm offensive for Thicke. Sure couldn't hurt if his goal is to just get back Patton, right?
