We maxed out on French manicures several years ago and since then, have been avoiding this delicate nail art like the plague. That is, until we saw this feature on Vogue.com by Jin Soon Choi in which the old-news mani trend gets a thoroughly modern update — suddenly, we've found ourselves surprisingly inspired. After all, if you think about it, a French manicure is basically just color blocking, right? And, once you look at it that way, there are infinite possibilities. In other words, the key to making this look modern is forgetting its rules.
The only rule Choi seems to be following in these six gorgeous manicures? Two tones. Other than that, she plays around with shapes, thickness, and color combos. No more delicate pinks and nudes — these looks are bold, funky, and geometric. Head on over to Vogue.com to see the looks she created, and let us know if you're feeling as inspired as we are. (Vogue)
