If you're like most brides-to-be, there isn't a bridal show you won't hit — even if you've already got your entire wedding planned out. But after a while, the whole ballroom thing gets old, you can't stand to look at one more chair cover, and you start to wonder if eloping would have been a better option. Not so fast — if there's one more flower-infused fete that should make your list, it's taking place this Sunday, September 15 (mark that calendar!) from 12 to 4 p.m.
It's time for CS Brides magazine's 7th annual Oak Street Wedding Walk. The "afternoon of bridal luxury" begins at Spiaggia Private Events with bites and Prosecco and then continues at your leisure at all of the participating vendors on Oak Street, including Kate Spade, Ultimate Bride, Vera Wang, Gibson's, Lester Lampert, and among several others. Along with gaining some major inspiration for everything from your dress to your honeymoon wares, each store will present the bride with a mini-surprise gift. You'll also get to taste a different wedding cake at each, courtesy of some of Chicago's top bakeries — now that's our idea of lunch! Of course, all good things must come to an end. In this case, you'll finish up at The Waldorf Astoria, where brides will pick up their too-good-to-be-true swag bag — we're dead serious — while enjoying some light bites. If you haven't had enough sugar at this point, you can head on over to Del Frisco's for some Champers. Why not? You only (hopefully) get married once, after all.
Tickets are $65 for brides (did we mention the killer swag?) and $25 for guests and can be purchased here. Proceeds benefit the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.
