Dang, Girl! 4 Local Ladies Share Their Must-Try NYE Party Looks

Remember your grade-school teachers and their constant warnings against copying your neighbor's work? They were totally right (obviously), but we've found an instance where it's completely acceptable to borrow someone else's know-how for your own benefit — filching outfit ideas from style bloggers! We selected four local ladies to show off perfect, party-ready outfits that you can try (and tweak) for any New Year's Eve shindig on your agenda. Even better? We've picked out the must-have pieces you'd need to buy to actually recreate each look. After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and doing the shopping for you is the sweetest gift we can give.

Katherine Martinez of La Petite Marmoset

Her party-perfect tip:
"Play with proportions! Complement a long, voluminous dress with a cropped fur or faux-fur jacket. Bold statement shoes and limiting yourself to one prominent piece of jewelry will keep the look from venturing into grandma territory."

Ashleigh Hutchinson of The Daileigh

Her party-perfect tip:
"I like to challenge myself to create looks with pieces that I would not normally think to pair together — a floral velvet and sheer jacket with sequins (worn as a top) would not be an obvious choice for me. The acid-wash denim and light gray heels are similar shades, so this kept the focus up top. To top off the look, I added a pop of color with the belt. It's all about adding your own touch to create a great look!"

Alison Coglianese of Chain Strap Purse

Her party-perfect tip:
"This look, for me, was all about classic holiday elegance. I was drawn to this H&M dress because of the color, and loved how simple yet sophisticated it is. I also wanted to let my accessories make the statement. The vintage mink stole is probably from the 1940s or '50s, and I've been dying for an excuse to wear it! And you can never go wrong with a sequin clutch — during the holidays or any time of the year, really!"

Krystin of Be Loud Be You

Her party-perfect tip:
"My style tip to stand out this NYE is to wear something unexpected. Try mixing prints or patterns to create a fun-festive look, and top it off with a little sparkle. Let your outfit express what you want the new year to bring. This look is fun, free, and adventurous, just like I hope 2012 will be for me."
