The Brooklyn Circus' Birthday Block Party
Toast to three years of The Brooklyn Circus S.F. with an insane 2-day block party in the Fillmore. The cool cats from the shop will debut their official anniversary t-shirt and keep the party going with tunes from 11 hot DJs. Trust us, these dudes know how to throw down.

Catch Balenciaga and Spain Before It's Gone!
Get your fashion fix (while there’s still time!) at the de Young Museum’s must-see exhibition: Balenciaga and
Spain. The show, curated by Vogue European Editor-at-Large Hamish Bowles,
chronicles the history and influence of Spanish culture on Cristóbal Balenciaga’s

Irving Penn At Fraenkel Gallery
And while you're on the fashion exhibit kick, make sure you check out the new Irving Penn exhibit, "Radical Beauty," which just went up at the Fraenkel Gallery this week. It's one of the few shows looking at Penn's dramatic portraiture that challenges the perception of beauty.

County Fair Fun!

Two local county fairs are going down this weekend: The Marin County Fair, which we've already detailed a little, and the Alameda County Fair, which will include an attempt at busting the current Guinness World Record of the largest hamburger commercially available. The weigh-in of the gargantuan 600-pound burger, 110-pound bun meal goes down on Saturday, July 2, at 10 a.m. That, along with other fair fun.
When: Marin's event ends Monday, July 4, Alameda's ends Sunday, July 10

Nosh On Mobile Eats In San Mateo
After San Jose's epic food truck throwdown, fellow South Bay spot San Mateo is also getting in on the fun with the first ever San Mateo Moveable Feast. A whopping 22 food trucks are already confirmed, including newbie Naked Chorizo, standby Curry Up Now, and karaoke ice cream truck Treatbot. In addition to the food truck fun, there's also a Local Label Faire happening at the same time, same place.

Get Artsy At SOMArts
If this picture is any indication, SOMArts' performance art piece and exhibition, The Book, will be amazing! To celebrate the opening of the dance-based performance by Avy K Productions and artist Carol Swann, and an accompanying exhibit, Friday's performance will be completely free!
