Sure, we all know about ombre tips, but Sassoon Salon's latest color collection (Fun fact: The international salon comes out with new collections twice a year just like fashion houses!) is taking the dipped-and-dyed trend one step beyond. "In fashion, a desire for simplicity is emerging — epitomized by the pared-down but immaculately cut collections of fashion houses such as Céline and Stella McCartney," explains Sassoon's new S.F. color director, Dianne Degnan. "However, this simplicity requires a creative edge to be infused with a sense of fun, and we're seeing this concept translate into the block colors that have been very popular this season. Our Minimum collection uses these bold colors as a way to radiate energy while accentuating the pure, graphic shape of the cuts."
Just what does that translate to for your hair? In essence: vivid color poking through in unexpected streaks, with either blunt of faded edges, and unexpected places. And, if you like what you see, book an appointment at the salon's Sutter Street space, pronto!
