Sweet or Silly: Greta Gerwig’s Premiere Hair Style

Maybe it's our obsession with HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce, which centers on Mildred's daughter Veda, who always happens to have a barrette holding back her side-parted curly locks. Or perhaps we're still thinking about Rodarte's spring runway show with models sporting stone-encrusted barrettes. Whatever the genesis of our current interest with pinned-back, side-swept hair, we can't say, but it’s definitely a hair trend that’s on our radar this spring. Though there are definitely ways it can look a bit childish, you can also get this simple look without looking like a kindergartener. Case in point: Greta Gerwig, who kept her tousled curls off her face with a simple bobby pin for the premiere of Arthur this week. We think it’s fresh, simple, and casual-cute, but tell us—are you a fan of this look or do you think this ‘do is a don’t? (BellaSugar) (BellaSugar)
