Are you as stoked as we are that the holiday weekend is finally here (of course you are!). Well, we’re sure your agenda is jam-packed with barbeques and fetes galore, but once we all haphazardly return to work on Tuesday, the fun doesn’t need to end (or at least it shouldn’t). As promised, we’re bringing you five must-catch events that will spice up your week and make you feel like the long weekend never even came to a close. From a poolside brunch (yes, it can happen in S.F.) to a “meat up” — here are five wow-worthy happenings for the next seven days.

Chef Anne Willan Book Signing
Some collect stamps (we collect shoes), but Anne Willan, author of The Cookbook Library, has an unusually large personal stash of antiquarian cookbooks. Over 400 volumes dating as far back as 1491, to be exact. And in her new book The Cookbook Library: Four Centuries of the Cooks, Writers, and Recipes That Made the Modern Cookbook (what a mouthful) she explores her collection, tracing the evolution of the modern cookbook, as well as life in and out of the kitchen. Sure, we'll always dig perusing food blogs on the reg, but sometimes we love the feeling of leafing through pages of recipes, which is why we'll be at Willan's signing on Saturday to receive her John Hancock.
When: Saturday, June 2, 3 to 4 p.m.
Where: Omnivore Books, 3885 Cesar Chavez Street (at Church Street); 415-282-4712.

SFMOMA Meatup
Sorry veggies, but you may have to sit this one out. This meat-centric event will serve up chicken and beef empanadas in honor of SFMOMA's current Mexican-music exhibit. As part of the museum's “Open Late” Thursdays, Belcampo Meat Co. will be the guest of honor at the Blue Bottle Coffee Bar on the third floor. Come hungry, and don't forget to order a specialty cocktail from St. George Spirits, too. Museum admission is half-price after 6 p.m. on Thursday evenings, so take advantage of discount tickets while the offer's still on the table.
When: Thursday, May 31, 6 to 8 p.m.
Where: Blue Bottle Coffee Bar, SFMOMA, 151 3rd Street (at Mission Street); 415-357-4000.

Chambers Poolside Brunch
Think poolside brunching doesn’t exist in S.F.? Well, thanks to Chambers Eat + Drink it does! Starting this weekend you’ll be able to nosh on Eggs Royale, French Toast, Pork Belly Hash, and other crazy-good dishes while catching some rays (fingers crossed). A little alfresco action? Yes please! You’ll seriously know where to find us.
When: Sunday, May 27, Saturday, June 2, Sunday, June 3, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Chambers Eat + Drink, 601 Eddy Street (at Larkin Street); 415-829-2316.

Temescal Alley Art Walk
Come the first Friday of every month you can most likely catch us in Oakland peeping cool art and enjoying sweet eats. The storied art walk is a must-hit and features an array of galleries, restos, and shops displaying prized works. The street style there is pretty on-point, too. See what we mean? This is a one art-filled event you’ll want to make the trip over the Bay Bridge for.
When: June 1, 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: Oakland Art Murmur, West Grand Avenue to 66th Street, Oakland; No phone.
