Style Syllabus: Places To Use Your Student Discount This Summer

Being in college means pretty tight funds. You might not have a full-time income, but you do have something most nine-to-fivers don't—your college ID, which gets you deals and steals. Consider it a little reward for all your intense nights of studying, and take advantage of these discounts because they’re the last ones you’ll readily get until you’re ordering the early bird special. We rounded up some awesomely cheap and even free places to go in our favorite cities this summer.
New York
The Lincoln Center—An iconic New York institution for music, dance, and the arts gives a serious price-cut for students.

Broadway Shows
Part of the New York tourist dream experience, a Broadway show is something you have to experience at least once.

Los Angeles  
MOCA—This very contemporary art museum in downtown Los Angeles is now showing Art in the Streets, the notorious graffiti exhibit, now through August 8.

Hammer Museum
The Hammer is in UCLA’s hood and a must-see for lesser-known but equally cool artists.

Oakley’s Barber Shop
Join the barber shop craze at one of L.A.’s oldest for chic but cheap student prices on hair and nails.

Classic Movies American Cinemateque
The Egyptian Theatre and the Aero Theatre are both full of Old Hollywood glamour and show vintage movies nightly.

The Grammy Museum—You’ve seen them on TV but here, you get a behind-the-scenes pass.

Art Institute of Chicago—With a huge collection of everything art-y you ever need to see, you could spend a year here.

Cubs Game—You really can’t spend time in the Windy City and not hit a Cubs game, but now you can afford to go to more than one!

American Theater Company—Plays and musicals for every taste.
