The Paper Chase: Press Debuts A Not-At-All Lame Paper Bird DIY

Press Works On Paper-3x4
If there’s anything that the Portlandia duo Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein have taught us (besides their fave S.F. hot spots!) it's that there’s something very cliché about putting a bird on an item and calling it art. However, turning something into a bird is still pretty awesome, in our books. And at one of our favorite paperies, Press: Works On Paper, you can learn how to do just that, thanks to one of the shop’s three new DIY crafting workshops.
First off, folks will learn how to sculpt an adorable little birdie from textured paper, then, once she's ready to fly, you can move along to the next class, where you'll learn how to create a photo collage made from beeswax, and later a super-pretty paper bouquet!

Can’t choose between the three? Us, either! Luckily, Press thought ahead and created three-class packages to choose from, each combining two different classes for $25 less than you'd pay for individual sessions. So, pick your classes, grab your scissors, and up your paper skills — stat!
When: Tuesday, April 10, Wednesday, April 25, and Wednesday, May 2, 7 p.m.
Where: Press: Works On Paper, 3492 22nd Street (at Dolores Street); 415- 913-7156.
Price: $75 for one class; $125 for a two-class package. Buy tickets here!
