When it comes to the East Bay’s vivacious attributes — you really don’t need to school us on it. We’re well aware that things are bubbling up out there faster than we can handle, which is why we get pretty pumped when its finest venues and must-try spots are highlighted.
So, when Oakland-based photographer Eva Kolenko and Liz Stanley of lifestyle blog Say Yes To Hoboken collaborated on a cool “sites and bites” feature showcasing standout venues in Oakland, we were immediately intrigued. Kolenko wandered around the East Bay and hit up places we call faves, too — like Boot & Shoe service and boutique Oak Common.
Along with shooting it though, Kolenko penned little tidbits about what makes each place so incredible. Take a visual journey over to some of Oakland's coolest spots thanks to this fun photo diary. The best part? Kolenko will continually work as a contributor for the site, so the discovery never has to end!
