Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson Likes Band Of Outsiders, Independent Dudes

We have to admit, we are pretty 'effin obsessed with Modern Family over here. Perhaps our favorite characters are the dynamic duo of Cam (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson), a gay couple that have us in stitches every week. So, when our New York Editor saw Jesse wandering around the Lincoln Center Institutebenefit last night, sipping on a suspiciously strong Double Cross white sangria, we couldn't resist the chance to chat him up. The dude is very under-the-radar (no one seemed to recognize him except for us and scenester Chessy Wilson, who was almost in tears she was so excited), and his new-found fame has definitely not gone to his head. Case in-point, while he seemed bemused by our evident obsession, he couldn't be cooler about answering all of our numerous questions.

Kristian: We had no idea you lived in NYC! What the hell are you doing here?

Jesse: I'm actually living in Greenwich Village this summer, because I'm doing Shakespeare In The Park.

What brings you to this benefit?

My good friend and committee member Lily Rabe brought me tonight. Plus, there's free booze.

Really? You don't seem like you really need to worry about free alcohol right now.

Well, you're right. I'm very liquid right now.

So, we're pretty much a fashion site. Who are some of your fave designers?

Well, I sort of went on a shorts shopping spree. Picked up a bunch at Theory. I also love Tom Ford. And Steven Alan. I just bought 3 Band Of Outsider polo shirts.

What's your fave thing to do in NYC?

Definitely the Highline. I love it. I walk it 3 times a week. Basically, I'm the prostitute of the Highline.

What else?
I also love Café Gitane. The waitstaff is remarkably attractive.

Yummm.

Plus Bar Citron, and sometimes I frequent, umm, Eastern Bloc.

Ha...we love Eastern Bloc! It's our fave grimy go-to gay place. Speaking of which, are you single?!

Haha. Yes, I'm single.

So...what are you looking for in a man?

Hmm, really anyone who has their own funding. I'm not gonna support anyone.

Oh. That works. I'm single.

Oh, I have to go. I'm having dinner with a friend.
