Sometimes, a blast from the bast can be a very good thing. While it's not making a major comeback, you can experience the gilded age right here in NYC for a day with the third annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, a super-glamorous daytime social occasion where you can dress up in your Sunday best, don a gigantic hat, and pretend you've just come over on the Titanic. The games take place on a gigantic field in the middle of Governor's Island, once the home to regular matches—which makes for a fun mini-vacation. While the tickets don't come cheap, for $250 you've got access to all the decadence, including unlimited Yellow Label champers, a custom Polo blanket, VIP ferry tickets, and an over-the-top picnic lunch from the chef behind Union Square café. Plus, if this year's anything like the last, there's a pretty good chance you can meet Prince Harry, or an Argentinian polo player, or two.
