Tying the knot has always signified the joining of two as one. But for Marcy and R.J., their wedding was so much more than that. It was all about blending families, creating a moment that not only the Northern Virginia couple, but also her then-three-year-old daughter, Audrey, would remember forever.

"It was really special having Audrey be a part of the [wedding planning] process," the bride tells Refinery29. "From the start, she was aware that we would all be a part of the wedding, but she didn't completely understand what it meant. She just kept saying, 'We're getting married in New-Ork!'"
