This Week: My Fair Wedding, essentially every gal's dream day on steroids.

How I Got Hooked: When I started planning my wedding a little less than a year ago, I knew one thing: I didn't want to go bridezilla crazy. So, I decided to keep it on the small side (under 100 people) and forgo traditional elements like a bridal party so everyone could just come and kick up their heels, sans stress. With less than four months to go until my big day, I can confidently say I have my dream venue, I found a vintage dress to compliment my '40s theme, and (for the most part) have managed to get through the planning process relatively stress-free. All of this, of course, is just the icing on the cake to marrying the perfect man.
Despite my low-key mindset, I've become obsessed with the most over-the-top wedding show ever: My Fair Wedding. While it's not new, I never had a reason to watch it before. But, my mom and I started this tradition of throwing on something wedding-related every time we get together to work on the nuptials. In this series, event planner David Tutera knocks on the doors of soon-to-be brides who are in dire need (read: skulls, dad in a toga, and cotton balls down the aisle) of a wedding rescue. Each episode takes on a Cinderella-like transformation that definitely includes some drama along the way. My most recent marathon was just last weekend, when I texted my fiance for his Amazon password so us girls could watch a couple (or five) episodes. "Mama Drama?" he texted me back as the bill came through on his phone with the episode name of my first purchase. Hey, as long as that's not the term associated with our families, everyone should be happy.

Best Episode To Watch: This is a Sophie's Choice decision for me, but if you don't want to become jaded by selfish and unappreciative brides looking for a handout, start with "Make a Wish Bride" (Season 4, Episode 1, Netflix) and get ready to cue the tears. Once you've become a seasoned veteran like myself, try one of Tutera's recaps like the "Best Brides" episode from season 5, where the good, the bad, and the downright ugly are revealed.
Why You'll Love It: While one could argue that money can save anything (Tutera's transformations do not come cheap), My Fair Wedding begs for you not to take anything too seriously. For example, you might find inspiration for a killer bouquet, tradition, theme, or dress. (Tutera has his own line of relatively affordable frocks and accessories, by the way.) At the end of the day, it doesn't take away from the fact that watching Tutera turn synthetic rose petals into crystals is simply amusing on a sleepy Sunday afternoon in your PJs.
