Give It To Us Straight! The Best Salons For A Killer Blowout

Any Miami girl knows the search for the perfect blowout is endless. It’s not easy finding the right hair stylist who can shield are locks from the frizz without making us like that character from Sesame Street with the long hair. You know who we’re talking about. But, after all, we are a city full of ladies with thick, curly hair (K. Kardashian, you have nothing on us), so it comes as no surprise that some of the best blowout experts in the country reside in the 305. We know you’re just dying to know who they are, where you can find them, and how much their services cost. Don’t fret. We got you. Read on to see our top picks for the best salons is town boasting rocking blowouts — which have all been Miami-tested and approved!
We never paid much attention to Bliss in South Miami, until we heard Katia Quinteros (formerly of Om Beauty) was servicing one of its chairs. We’ve yet to find a stylist who can blow dry hair and add waves à la Victoria’s Secret models as well as Quinteros can. Her straightforward attitude makes us feel confident that she’ll never leave us looking mediocre.
Bliss, starting at $45, 5829 SW 73rd Street #10; 305-662-2984.
Newbie Blo Midtown made our list for their quick and easy service. Walk in or make an appointment as early as 7 a.m. and leave with a polished look that'll only cost $35 regardless of your hair length.
Blo Midtown, starting at $35, 3301 NE 1st Avenue, Ste. 102; 786-373-5256.
Allure magazine refers to Audra Billingsley as the frizz whisperer. And with prices starting $40, need we say more?
Sean Donaldson, starting at $40, 1674 Meridian Avenue; 305-397-8460.
We love Natalia Mejia for ladies with ethnic or Hispanic locks because she always seems to get the strands, really, really dry — meaning complete frizz-control. Added bonus: Tuesdays through Thursdays, the salon offers $25-blowouts.
Salon Vaso, starting at $45, 1500 Alton Road, 2nd floor; 305-674-7470.
Aptly named, Contesa Rock Hair, this Miami Beach beauty spot is known for giving hair an edgy — and really straight — finish.
Contesa Rock Hair, starting $40, 417 Espanola Way; 305-672-5434.
Okay, we’ve all asked who is the person behind Anne Owen’s (of Miami magazine) beautifully straight bob. Well, it’s Andrea Battista of Cutler, and no one is more precise than this man.
Cutler Salon Miami, starting at $65, 2377 Collins Avenue; 305-672-4499.
This Design District spot with an uplifting vibe has a reputation for stellar customer service. In other words, they listen and will give you a blow dry service just the way you like it.
