Get Your First Look At Ben Affleck In Gone Girl

Before he dons a cape and cowl in next summer's Batman vs. Superman, Ben Affleck will play the role of the philandering husband Nick Dunne, in the adaptation of Gillian Flynn's runaway bestseller Gone Girl. The film, under the stewardship of director David Fincher, follows Dunne as he tries to uncover the mystery of his wife's disappearance, while he increasingly becomes the prime suspect. Rising star Rosmunde Pike nabbed the coveted role of Amy Dunne, who figures into the plot in some very suprising — and terrifying — ways. But, Gone Girl's biggest casting news may have come when Fincher tapped "Blurred Lines" video-vixen Emily Ratajowski (easily one of 2013's biggest breakout stars) in the pivotal role of Nick's college-aged mistress, Andy.
In the first official production photo, we see Affleck standing in front of a poster of his lost wife, pleading for her safe return. It's the early stages of what turns out to be a taut narrative rife with unexpected plot twists, which is right in Fincher's wheelhouse. And, while the auteur's last adaptation of a hit crime novel, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, was a box-office disappointment, we fully expect Gone Girl to rectify that. With its story that feels ripped straight from a Nancy Grace segment, the highly anticipated thriller, due next fall, should have a much wider appeal with American audiences. Expect a trailer very soon. (Oh No They Didn't!)
