Atlas Genius is an Aussie duo (who are brothers) that shares a love of big melodies and swirling guitars. The band's new video for "Centred On You" is a fittingly beautiful accompaniment to the song's soaring harmonies, with footage of a young woman traversing naturalistic landscapes that range from forests to lake shores. (Too bad this didn't come out before we packed for Coachella, but alas...)
The Anders Rostad-directed clip ends with a fiery finale complete with bonfires and colored smoke — something like a Ryan McGinley photo shoot soundtracked by Bon Iver at its most upbeat. "My conscious all lit up / This second for / Centered on you," sings Keith Jeffery, as we see the protagonist stare off at the wheeling stars above. It's all very pretty and has us thinking of past camping adventures and planning future expeditions.
