The New Colorblocking: Saks Breathes New Life Into An Old(ish) Trend

Colorblocking has been a major trend for years now — and whether you block like a boss or are just getting the hang of it, you're probably wondering how to keep the look up to date.
Enter, Saks Fifth Avenue. This season, Saks offers a new take on a trend that (in fashion terms, anyway) is practically AARP-eligible.
The updates? First, play with silhouette. Instead of the sharp, minimalist lines we usually associate with the trend, try draped layers, à la Acne's sherbet-toned minidress. Second, opt for new color combos. We love Diane von Furstenberg's sculptural, salmon blazer with a navy printed pant. And, we still love colorblocking with brights, but this season, keep it understated by mixing neon with shades of black, white, and gray — like Fendi's gorgeous frame bag.
