What Flash Mob Theft? Nudie Jeans’ Summer Party Prevails!

Flash mobs that assemble into place and perform some sort of entertainment or artistic expression are good. Flash mobs that steal piles of jeans are not. Perhaps you've heard about (or were at Wicker Park Fest when it happened) the flash mob theft that took place at Mildblend Supply Co. on Milwaukee Avenue a couple of weeks ago. The store was hit with a loss of $3,000 worth of the Swedish Denim brand Nudie Jeans, which average about $200 a pair. Despite the drama, there's a summer party taking place tonight that will give you the opportunity to sip a Tiger Beer or two and pick up a pair of jeans yourself — the honest way.

The Kickback and DJ Jesse De La Pena will be providing a little live musical entertainment (what's a party without music?) to celebrate the launch of the new Nudie Jeans shop-in-shop at the Wicker Park location of Mildblend Supply Co. We're pretty sure the flash mob thieves didn't know that Nudie Jeans are made from 100% organic materials and that they use old worn-out jeans and recycle them into new denim—but those are definitely selling points for us. There's no need to RSVP for this fete. Just come as you are and hopefully, leave with a new pair of blue babies to add to your fall wardrobe.

Where: Mildblend Supply Co., 1342 North Milwaukee Avenue (between Wood and Paulina Streets), 773-772-9711.

When: Thursday, August 9 from 7 to 9 p.m.
