Congrats! You Can Buy Kanye’s Yeezy 2 Collection Already (Sort Of…)

What — you didn’t drop everything at work to frantically scour the Web at noon EST for a peek at Kanye West’s Yeezy 2 show? In case you’ve missed the classic Kanye mayhem surrounding the event, the second showing of West’s collaboration with Adidas was announced only on Friday, pissing off some other designers in the process. Yesterday, superfans clamored to get free tickets to watch the show's livestream in select movie theaters nationally. The show brought out Kim, Kylie, North (sucking a lollipop and sitting on the floor, instead of having a tantrum, like last season), Kendall (sitting second row, strangely), plus folks like Drake, Lorde, Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci, Common, Courtney Love, Tyga, Michael Stipe, and Helena Christensen. There was a performance by Vanessa Beecroft, and West debuted a new track.
Oh, and the clothes looked essentially the same as West’s Yeezy 1 presentation in February: very shapewear-esque, athleisure-y, a little military-inflected, with nudes of all shades, matched to models’ skin colors. For the finale, models were arranged in gradation from lightest to darkest, front to back, rousing some interesting Twitter reactions. (Those models reportedly had to sign $10 million nondisclosure agreements banning them from talking about Kanye, Kim, and any Kardashians.)
Although a few of the sneakers shown in the Yeezy Season 1 collection are already out, the clothing isn’t expected to arrive in stores until next month (making it the tardiest fall collection to have shown last season). If you simply must jump on the body-stocking-filled Yeezy 2 movement ASAP, great news! Most of it is already available (without a Kanye label). Click through to see what we mean.
