Did Candace Cameron Bure Really Write This Anti-Liberals Message?

Candace Cameron Bure, once upon a time best known to us as D.J. Tanner, embarks on a new phase in her career today. After many guest-hosting stints, she's officially joining The View as a panelist for the show's Hot Topics segment. She was brought on as a conservative voice to liven up discussions with opposing viewpoints. Bure has been excitedly hyping her View debut on all of her social media platforms. One controversial Facebook post that E! Online covered this morning, however, may not have come from Bure's official account. "Yo!" the post begins — perhaps the first sign that it's not from Bure. She asks fans for their prayers as they watch the show, then continues, "Please encourage me if you watch the show. Please tag The View on your social media outlets if you have anything kind to say about me or my viewpoint. The majority of the feedback I get from The View audience is from liberals (whom I love) but are mean, hateful and downright nasty toward me. It's incredibly disheartening to read. And while I know I have the support of many, most of those supporters don't vocalize it on social media. So all I read and The View hears are the negative and discouraging comments I'm tagged to that call me a vile, discussing [sic], worthless and bigoted human being." At the end of the post, the person posing as Bure asks followers to "Be a voice—if not for me, but for a show like this so they can hear more than one point of View! If we don't speak up, they'll never know." Refinery29 has reached out to Bure's reps for confirmation regarding the authenticity of this post, as it does not appear to have come from her official Facebook account. While this anti-liberals Facebook post probably isn't real, Bure isn't afraid to court controversy on The View. In July, she defended the Oregon bakery that wouldn't make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple. Co-host Raven-Symoné took the opposite stance on the bakery's actions. This is the kind of discourse in which they'll regularly engage as now-permanent cohosts of the show. (E! Online)
