As utterly sick as we are of girl-on-girl Twitter beefs this summer, we are surprisingly not weary of seeing them disposed of gracefully. Particularly when they come in musical form, like during Taylor Swift's Saturday night stop in San Diego. Avril Lavigne stepped onto the 1989 stage for a "Complicated" duet with Swift.
The lyrics seemed to speak almost directly to the potential feud between current superstar Swift and the rebellious songstress of the aughts. A quick primer: complications were stirred up after Swift reportedly liked a Tumblr post that compared her touchy-feely relationship with fans with Lavigne's relatively standoffish one. Lavigne tweeted a response last Sunday, saying, "We all love our fans...So let's keep it all about the love and stay positive."
Apparently, Swift liked that reaction and reached out to Lavigne. "We've been texting all week and we finally got to meet today — and she's so cool," Swift said when introducing Lavigne onstage. Lavigne, meanwhile, took it as a huge compliment.
