The budding friendship between Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer has been fascinating (i.e., jealousy inducing) from the outset. But now it looks like we'll have the chance to get in on their newfound BFF action — at the movies.
According to Lawrence, the two funny gals are penning a screenplay together, in which they'll also star. “We play sisters,” Lawrence told The New York Times. “We’re almost done writing. It just flowed out of us. We’ve got about 100 pages right now.”
The Hunger Games actress wasn't shy about dropping hints that it's going to be hilarious, either. “Amy and I were creatively made for each other. We have different flavors. It’s been the most fun experience of my life. We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages. And we crack up."
We'll definitely be keeping an ear out for any updates on what is sure to be a hot-mess cinematic masterpiece (in the very best way possible, of course). One thing we are wondering, though, is whether Schumer's actual sister, a writer on Inside Amy Schumer and an associate producer of Trainwreck, feels a little left out on this one.
While Lawrence told the Times that she'll be flying out to Chicago to continue collaborating with Amy and "write a little bit with her sister, Kim," it seems like the comedian's real-life sibling is may be taking a bit of a backseat on the project. Then again, if you're going to gain an unofficial new sibling, the best-case scenario is that it's Jennifer Lawrence. More likely, we bet Kim is pretty cool with this new turn of events.
