If you want to make sexist banter with Amy Schumer, like one man attempted during an interview, don't. The comedian, who is the writer and star of Trainwreck, will take you down as swiftly as she demolishes a heckler at a stand-up set.
The interview for Australian KIIS 101.1 started out cordial enough, but headed south after the male interviewer, Matt Tilley, followed up a discussion of the short skirts Schumer's character wears in the film with the question: "Do you have the word skanky in America?" Schumer quickly struck back. "We do have that word," Schumer responded. "What made you think about your mom? What made that pop up into your mind?" When he argued that he wasn't trying to "offend," Schumer replied: "Whatever you're trying to do, you are. That's a rude question."
Then the interview verged into some weird pubic hair territory — with Tilley and Jane Hall discussing a woman "trimming" her nether region in their office bathroom — and ended on another sour note with Tilley, once again, completely missing the point of Schumer's movie and her character. But should we really be surprised? After all, he previously revealed that he would describe a woman who wears short skirts as a "skank."
"The reason you're a trainwreck is because drinking and cheap sex is pretty much what drives you until you reason the important things in life," he inisted. "Isn't that a fair summation?"
"Uh, no," Schumer replied.
