Katie Holmes Makes Us Want to Wear Leather Pants ASAP (Yes, Even In This Heat)

Katie Holmes is back with a vengeance — and we couldn’t be more excited about it. Especially when she’s wearing cool, unexpected outfits like the one she sported on her way in to Good Morning America. But first, let's acknowledge that, yes, it’s crazy hot in New York City right now — granted, it's not as soupy as earlier this week. So how about taking fall dressing inspiration from Holmes' glam, tough-girl outfit? (Besides, the sound stage is probably super air-conditioned). And come on, who isn’t already dying to shop for fall leather jackets again? #overthisheat

To discuss her upcoming role on Showtime’s Ray Donovan, the former Joey Potter (Dawson’s Creek 4ver!) paired an almost mirrored silver V-neck sweater with a pair of baggy leather pants. The tapered, cropped cut and origami-inspired wrap-around detail at the hip added an interesting architectural vibe to the trousers. Holmes added a Ralph Lauren Ricky tote in black — very versatile. And to bring the outfit back into summer, she repeated her Christian Louboutin tan and python-backed t-strap sandals. We're looking forward to seeing more of this.
