This Denim Model Literally Has The Best Butt In The Business

Thanks to lucrative endorsement deals, famous friend circles, and massive Instagram followings, the current crop of supermodels has risen from catwalk regulars to achieving household-name status. However, there's another top model who quietly boasts nearly as many clients as the Kendalls and Caras of the industry — but chances are you would never recognize her face. Meet Natasha Wagner, the most in-demand denim fit model working today. She's 34 years old, stands at 5 feet 8 inches tall, and wears a size 28 in jeans. Although her stats might differ from those of typical runway models, the California resident has steadily built her roster of denim clients in the past 14 years, thanks to her butt. She's worked with brands including 7 For All Mankind, Mother, Citizens of Humanity, Re/Done, Paige, Black Orchid, Vince, Proenza Schouler, Gap, Lucky Brand, Old Navy, and Levi’s. Her secret? Rather than high cheekbones or a waifish beauty, Wagner instead was born with the industry's platonic ideal of a hip-to-waist ratio. As Black Orchid designer Julien Jarmoune told Vogue of Wagner, “If you fit with someone who is too curvy (tiny waist, big butt), or with someone who has a straight body (no hips), you are limiting yourself to just a certain body type.... She has the best of both worlds where she’s slim and she still has shape." Wagner's legs fit the standard 30-inch inseam many denim brands use, which means that if the fit looks good on her, then the pants will also look good on the customer. After more than a decade of slipping into denim, Wagner has used her extensive experience to open her own fit modeling agency. In an industry for which looking different is often rewarded, Wagner has certainly found the payoff in wearing pants in a “very median way.” (Vogue)
