Shia LaBeouf Tries Rapping, Fails

Rat-tailed actor and sometime performance artist Shia LaBeouf did a bare-chested rap that has gotten him accused of plagiarism, once again. The footage below, which surfaced this weekend, finds LaBeouf rapping while surrounded by a group of excited onlookers, who nod along and verbally react when the actor mentions Transformers, his former film franchise. While, yes, some of the lyrics are specific to LaBeouf, MC Pri the Honeydark wrote on Instagram that LaBeouf "straight stole bars from the song 'Perfectionist', written, recorded and performed by my ANOMOLIES crew members @invincibledetand @helixxwashere in 1999!" Anyone who's been following the strange saga that is LaBeouf knows the actor has frequently cribbed the work of others. Just ask cartoonist Daniel Clowes, who found that LaBeouf had adapted Clowes' comic into a short film called HowardCantour.com.

With LaBeouf, this foray into rap could mean just about anything. Is he pursuing a new career? Method acting for a stealth multimedia project? Working on another performance art piece? The possibilities are endless. (Us)
