This Artist Is Cleaning Up Streets With Ice Cream

Photographed by Michael O'Neal.
Sometimes an ice cream cone is exactly what we need to brighten up our day. And, it seems that artist Jim Bachor feels the same way. Known for his stunning mosaics, Bachor often uses his artwork to cover up aesthetically unpleasing potholes. He started in Chicago, filling potholes in streets with mosaics of flowers and serial numbers, and more recently, started a much "tastier" series called Treats in the Streets. Thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign, lucky residents of Chicago and Finland will stumble upon sweet mosaics that are based on ice cream classics. Included in the series so far are cones, sandwiches, and popsicles, each of which fills what was once the location of an unfortunate-looking pothole. Treats in the Steets will be made up of 10 total pieces. If you don't happen to live in Chicago or Finland, you can follow along on Bachor's Instagram. Just be warned, his feed is going to make you want to hit up your local ice cream truck for a childhood throwback! Check out some of his melt-proof ice cream below. (Lost At E Minor)
