Taylor Swift has been taking winter's delayed departure like a boss — by extending her stay in sunny L.A. for as long as possible. We don't blame her. And, while the temperatures are barely rising here on the east coast, Swift is taking advantage of the comfortable California climate to reintroduce her signature look: the belly-masking matching set. When the singer was spotted out at dinner a couple of nights ago, however, something was different than usual.
Instead of the classic, matching top-and-skirt combo, Taylor DIY-ed her latest ensemble, pairing a playful, pleated skirt with a cropped blouse of the same hue. The top's curved hem was also different from Swift's usual formula. Still, in true Taylor fashion, sky-high heels and a whimsical bag were involved — and her belly button was, of course, covered.
Maybe Swift is switching things up for good; maybe she just wanted to make sure we were paying attention. (Don't worry, Taylor, we are.) While it's not quite matching-set season yet, Swift's peekaboo top eases us into the style and proves you can show a little skin without completely exposing your torso to chilly springtime wind tunnels. You'll likely need a light jacket to head out on the town this weekend, but that shouldn't stop you from copying Taylor's look.
Taylor is wearing a Roger Vivier bag and Miu Miu shoes.
