One of Hollywood's most dynamic duos are separated. People magazine reports that Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter have split. They were together for 13 years.
Carter's rep confirmed the news to People, saying they "separated amicably earlier this year and have continued to be friends and co-parent their children. We would ask that you respect their privacy and that of their children during this time."
Although the couple never married, Burton and Carter have two children together: 11-year-old Billy and 7-year-old Nell. Carter told Daniel Radcliffe in a 2012 interview for Interview she and Burton blamed "laziness" for not getting around to saying "I do."
Their partnership extended beyond the familial world and into their careers. After meeting on the set of 2001's Planet of the Apes, Burton and Carter would go on to collaborate on several more of Burton's films including Corpse Bride, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Big Fish. Carter is slated to reprise her role as the Red Queen in a sequel to Burton's 2010 adaptation of Alice in Wonderland. Burton, however, will not direct. (People)
