Marilyn Monroe’s Bra Sold For $20,000

Marilyn Monroe will never go out of style. Neither will memorabilia related to her dramatic life and career, as proven by the haul brought in by items sold at Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills yesterday.
According to People.com, a love letter from Monroe's husband Joe DiMaggio that begins "Dear Baby" — though it was written after the actress announced she was divorcing him — sold for $78,125. A letter from her last husband, Arthur Miller, written before they were married, went for $43,750.
Items of the sex symbol's clothing were hot tickets, too. A white lace bra sold for $20,000 and a black velvet coat for $93,760. Monroe's makeup compact went for a whopping $46,875. (Excuse us while we go pack all our belongings in archival tissue paper.)

But, it wasn't actually a Monroe souvenir but something from another late beauty that got the highest price on Saturday: a burgundy Caroline Charles coat dress worn by Princess Diana when Prince William was just a baby. That went for $125,000.
For those of us who forgot to bid on these precious objects, the catalog is still on display on the Julien's website. (People)
