Lock up your daughters, everyone. Bud Bundy is headed back to television. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony is in the midst of developing a Married...With Children spinoff that would focus on the Bundy clan's testosterone-addled teen.
With the recent success of Girl Meets World, and the online excitement over the possibility of a Full House reboot, studios are scrambling to capitalize on the very of-the-moment '90s nostalgia phenomenon.
No word yet on whether original cast members Ed O'Neill, Katey Sagal, Christina Applegate, and David Faustino (who played Bud) would appear on the show.
When Married...With Children debuted on FOX in 1987, it instantly became one of the most controversial shows on television, not for the Bundy's beige-soaked living room, but for its raunchy and often politically incorrect humor.
Despite the nonstop array of insults they hurled at one another, some could argue that the Bundys were as representative of the American family as the Cosbys. Just with a lot more mascara.
While we may have to wait some time before we see the Bundy clan together again on screen, they recently came together off it, for Sagal's Walk of Fame ceremony. Could the reunion be a sign of things to come? (The Hollywood Reporter)
