"Sorry we have had to take the site down due to a fire in our main warehouse," the e-tailer says in a statement posted on its website. "Fortunately nobody was hurt, but we are unable to take any orders until we can ascertain the extent of the damage. Sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused."
Firefighters in Barnsley, England were able to stop the fire at around 3 a.m. GBT. At the moment, it's unclear as to how the fire started, or what the extent of the damage will be. Reports suggest that several floors of the sprawling warehouse were seriously damaged, presumably resulting in a heavy loss of stock.

Over on the site's Facebook page, customers are already battling over whether it's ethical to demand the whereabouts of their pending orders. An ASOS rep has responded that if shoppers haven't received a dispatch email for their order, patience will be required.
"We need to check if we can fulfill orders before we can advise on dispatch timeframes," the rep told a worried customer. "As soon as the situation has been fully assessed in the warehouse, you guys will be the first to know."
