Pastel Makeup For Grown-Ups? Yes, It’s Possible

Even though colorful makeup, hair, and nails have become as ubiquitous as green juice these days, there's something about pastel makeup in particular that is uniquely terrifying. In a way, these soft, watercolor shades seem like they could be endlessly flattering. On the other hand, if you're older than 15, you might fear that these candy-colored shades could look saccharine — or, worse, like you're trying to appear "young." After all, nothing says "stuck in third-period algebra" like shimmery pastel lip gloss. (Or, was that just our teen experience?)
Thankfully, Cup of Jo is here to prove that grown women can pull off typically Barbie-tastic shades to completely gorgeous (and grown-up) effect. In a recent DIY photo shoot, Joanna Goddard partnered with makeup artist Ashlee Glazer to figure out how to make these sweet shades wearable — and it was a smashing success.
