Anyone who watches New Girl is not only completely in love with Zooey Deschanel's character, Jess, but has also been "shipping" Jess and and her cute roommate Nick since the very beginning. Sure, Jake Johnson's character may seem like a grumpy old man trapped in a 30-year-old body, but the North Shore native is anything but.
There's so much to love about Johnson, from his dorky good looks to his knack for improv. But, it's his love for his hometown Chicago that's got us swooning. In an interview with Splash, he shares his favorite Chi-town spots. “I always get an Old Style at Old Town Ale House, and I make sure to swing by Wrigley Field." No surprise there, considering he's a big-time Cubs fan. He even requested that the New Girl writers make his character originally from Chicago.
