Town & Country Turns Chloe Sevigny Into A Real Housewife

We love Chloe Sevigny for many reasons, but most of all for her total fearlessness in fashion. The actress is always experimenting, and has an admirably quirky style. So, when we saw the cover of the latest Town & Country, we did a total double take. Sevigny graces the mag in the most buttoned-up look we've ever seen her in, complete with pearls and even a classic chignon. Besides looking uncannily beautiful, she's also almost unrecognizable.
Once we got over the initial shock, we have to admit she is totally working this whole society schtick. She's giving a cheeky nod to the upper crust, and does a great job of impersonating the aesthetic — without taking herself too seriously. She also lets the magazine in on her transformation from good Connecticut girl to total downtown icon, and what being today's It Girl means to her.
"The whole ‘It Girl’ thing—I never felt that was the correct label," she told the mag. "Because I saw that as meaning 'flash in the pan,' or 'socialite,' or 'rich girl,' or 'druggie girl,' or 'model girl,' even though its origin is Clara Bow, who was the coolest thing ever." As a result of her status of the face of all things cool and hip, she's even less inclined to get wrapped up in it all than ever before. "It must come up when you Google me or something," she said of the label. "I'd rather cut off my pinkie than google myself."
Sevigny also dishes about her life growing up in the Fairfield County suburbs (hint: It was shockingly tame), and her journey from local plays to acting on the big screen. Head to Town & Country to read the interview in its entirety, and of course marvel at her fashion makeover. (Town & Country)
