The Happiest Places In The World Revealed; Guess Who’s In There!

Yeah, we’re pretty well aware that S.F. is a top-notch place to call home — come on, would we really live here otherwise? We’re getting accustomed to the accolades that seem to stream our way on the regular, from being dubbed the best city in the U.S. to housing the hippest enclave, it seems people want a piece of this S.F. pie. And while we get it, it’s definitely one of the best in the U.S. (not to boast, but really, it is) and produces jolly residents, we really had no clue that it was one of the happiest places in the world. The world, guys, that's a big deal.

Well, according to
Fast Company
, in a survey conducted by GfK Custom Research, our town ranked number seven in a global roundup of ten. Not too shabby, especially since over 20 countries were considered. Rio de Janeiro took the top spot thanks to its natural beauty, and Sydney managed to swing number two, despite being one of the most expensive cities to live in. Paris and Rome made the list, too — can't say we're surprised about that!

The reason we ranked so high? Our shopping centers. Um, what? Sure, other factors like the amazing outdoors and cultural activities are included, but who knew shopping centers greatly contributed to our glee. What do you make of these findings? Spot-on or so off? (Fast Company)
