Major Sadness: The Curiosity Shoppe To Close, Hosts Big Sale

main
It’s with heavy hearts that we deliver this A.M. news: Valencia Street staple and popular haven of innovative oddities, The Curiosity Shoppe, is shutting its doors for good. Hot off the heels of its successful collab with Target, husband-and-wife owners Derek Fagerstrom and Lauren Smith have announced that after six years on the booming block, the adorable spot will wrap things up by February 17 (February 8 for online sales) — and instead focus on other creative ventures, including Pop-Up Magazine, of which they are creative directors.
But, it’s not all dismal tidbits for CS fans. The store has a parting gift — slashing merch prices up to 20% off in-store and online. So, while we’re are sombered by the news, we know that this isn’t the last we’ll see from the owners, and we can scoop up some marked-down goodies and just wait to see what fabulous projects are on the horizon!
The Curiosity Shoppe, 855 Valencia Street (between 20th Street and Cunningham Place); 415)-671-5384.
