Lena Dunham Is Shopping Around A Book, For The Low Price Of $1M $3.5M

Update: Well, congratulations are certainly in order for Miss Dunham, who has just closed on a $3.5 million book deal with Random House. $3.5 million. For her thoughts. All before 30 years of age. Which makes everyone at R29 incredibly happy for the insanely talented Lena, and also maybe a little jealous, because our own personal memoirs just consist of ruminations written on the back of bar napkins. Lena, you serve as an inspiration to us all. Congrats, girl!
Because there's nothing she can't do (other than wear pants), Lena Dunham is apparently in talks with a number of publishing houses to write an advice book based on her personal experiences. Her literary agent is reportedly accepting offers starting at $1 million for the U.S. rights. Although we like to think good advice is priceless, that seems a little much, no?
Not That Kind Of Girl: Advice By Lena Dunham will be the writer's typical fare: honest, mostly true stories about sex, love, friendship and everything else that comes with growing up in America living in Williamsburg. She's written for Rookie and The New Yorker before, so she's no novice, but still — a first attempt at book publishing demands a bit of modesty. But, maybe we're wrong. We'd be first in line to buy the book, and there's got to be others like us. What do you think? Is $1 million laughable, or is that a fair price for the precious words of Lena? (The Huffington Post)
