Here Is Your 2020 Financial Horoscope

There’s something about the middle of winter that has us wondering if we’ll ever feel the warmth of the sun again. We tend to question our survival... and whether or not we’ll get a juicy tax refund or have to shell out more money to the state once again.

2020 in particular has a sobering energy that wants us to focus on creating concrete foundations for our financial futures. The last ten years saw most of the world recovering from financial mismanagement and risk-taking that went unchecked for decades. With Pluto, Saturn, and Jupiter in bare bones, earthy Capricorn for most of 2020, we’ll be urged to economize this year, to do more with less, to be thrifty and frugal.

Uranus in Taurus will continue to shake up financial markets, but it will also ask us to reconsider what’s of personal value to us. Do you need to order take out for lunch again or could you stand to enjoy leftovers you packed from home? You’ll see the value in the little things and pleasures versus extravagance that could be costly down the line.

2020 is also another year of retrogrades, with both Venus and Mars taking a moonwalk across the heavens to get us to reflect on issues related to values, money, self worth, confidence, anger and our desire to take action. As a rule, retrograde periods can mean delays and the stalling or undoing of previous progress, therefore it would be wise to handle these kinds of affairs before April when Venus enters her shadow, or after the end of July when she wraps up her retrograde story altogether.

This is a hint of what may be in store us in 2020. Looking for some more specialized advice? Wondering if this is the year to rent a bigger apartment, quit your job, or perhaps buy that expensive bag you've been coveting? Read on and find your sign to learn what the new year has in store for your bank account.

Aquarius

Your Money Sector has been under Neptune’s dreamy influence from as far back as 2012, meaning you may be a little loose with your spending especially when it comes to anything spiritual, altruistic, or artistic. While it’s honorable to spend your money on charity or beautiful crystals, it’s a good idea to keep your eye on your bank balance so you’re not getting those anxiety-inducing overdrawn account alerts on your phone.

Jupiter, the ruler of your Money Sector, is in Capricorn until December 2020 and he isn’t in the most generous of dispositions while in that sign. He prefers a bit more caution and restraint. Try to give yourself some limits. Take cash out of your account and only spend what’s available on hand. If you really want to please the money deities, try setting up an auto savings account and a low balance alert just to make your more whimsical purchases less threatening to your long term financial health .

Pisces

With Mars as the ruler of your Money Sector, you may approach your spending budget with the confidence of a warrior: quick, decisive and, on a bad day, impulsive.  When you set your eyes on something you want to possess, you're likely to throw money at it like gas on a blazing fire. 2020 is another retrograde-heavy year, especially for your money leader, Mars. If you’ve been thinking of investing or making a major purchase this year, it would be best before Mars gets into his retrograde shenanigans. That means handling serious financial affairs before the end of July when Mars enters his retrograde shadow.

If you do find yourself attempting to increase your income or make deals during the latter half of the year, you may find that the process is slow and frustrating with delays or disputes over how your money is coming in and going out. Patience is the name of the game this year, Pisces. You can have what you want if you’re willing to wait and not lose your temper while you do.

Aries

You’re not quite out of the woods in terms of career and financial stability just yet. Saturn, Pluto, and Jupiter are still restructuring your career goals and Uranus in Taurus is asking you to refresh your values and the way that you generate income. This spring, Venus, the ruler of your Money Sector, will retrace her steps through the heavens. It could be a great time to take a class that advances your writing skills and your ability to network. If you’re looking for a new position or a side gig, tap your siblings, close friends, or social media network to get things going. Practice patience, as retrograde planets have a way of making us wait longer than usual for results. Don’t take it personally when your money related dealings seem to be lost in limbo. The pace will pick up again by the end of July with more clarity about how to move forward financially.

Taurus

Uranus in Taurus has been radicalizing and redesigning you as a person, so it wouldn’t come as a surprise to hear that you’ve been feeling a little uncertain about how to go about attaining wealth and stability. This isn’t a time for panic as much as it is for recognizing that you’re changing, and that means new perspectives, desires, and values.

2020 will give you the opportunity to focus on these when your ruling planet Venus goes on her retrograde journey starting May 13th. Although this may signal a time where money and relationship matters are delayed, it also gives you ample time to think about what you want and how to get it. Do what you do best: mull it over, chew on it for a while before making any final decisions. Also look to Mercury, the ruler of your Money Sector. When he goes retrograde three times this year, you’ll be asked to re-evaluate how your hopes for the future, your education, and personal and business relationships influence your income. Tweak what needs tweaking and allow the Universe to deliver.

Gemini

Being known as one of the most changeable signs in the zodiac, it should come as no surprise that your money has a tendency to shift, flow, and change directions nearly as much as you do. The reason for that is your Money Sector is governed by the Moon, the fastest moving body in our solar system. Wherever she goes and whoever she talks to in the sky has a direct impact on your earning power, or lack thereof. From as far back as the end of 2018, your House of Money has been receiving a positive wave of energy via the Nodes of Fate and the Eclipses. Hopefully, you’ve been enjoying a financial boost in the form of a raise, new and improved streams of income, or just more confidence in yourself and your ability to bring home the bacon.

That energy leaves you this May, but that doesn’t mean you can’t continue riding that wave. Use the steady march of planets through the sign of Cancer starting from June through September to generate as much as you can while also keeping an eye on your debts and taxes, as Saturn, Pluto, and Jupiter will be asking you to address any issues there as well. It’s a balancing act for sure, Gemini, but if anyone can juggle, it’s you.

Cancer

The Nodes of Fate and Eclipses in your sign since the end of 2018 has been helping you feel more confident in your ability to lead your life. The recent dynamic has been about your partnerships and how you handle your sense of responsibility and obligations versus your own needs. This year you may find yourself taking on the additional role of managing not only your personal income, but the money of others as well. That could mean taking on a loan, dealing with inheritance or estate matters, or managing the budget for yourself and your partner. Saturn moves into Aquarius for a brief stint from March until July and then again in December, so watch out for what he wants you to take control of in regards to shared assets and joint incomes. Although this may feel burdensome and outside of your comfort zone, know that you can handle it if you remember it’s business, and not about personal feelings.

Leo

2020 is a year to keep your head out of the clouds and your feet firmly tethered to the earth, Leo. Neptune is at play when it comes to your finances, filling you up with grand schemes and expectations of your ability to increase your income. Neptune can blur reality however, so stay practical if you can. Be on guard against signing contracts or getting involved in investment agreements without knowing all the fine print details. That means triple checking all loans, credit cards, gifts, or any form of income that comes in from others. So long as you’re willing to pay attention and not trying to escape from the discomfort of dealing with the details you’ll be in good shape. With eyes wide open you can lead yourself into more abundant pastures.

Virgo

Re-consider your career path and whether it fits in with the image you’d like to project on the world stage, Virgo.  Venus, the ruler of your Money Sector, will be taking a retrograde journey through your House of Career and Reputation starting from April through the end of July. You may find that your career ambitions slow down to a halt and force you to re-evaluate whether your value your current position and the income it brings in. Ask yourself if this is how you’d like to make money and is it enough? Is it a career path that you find value in? Saturn entering Aquarius will bring lessons around your 9-to-5 gig and side hustles, your co-workers, and the responsibilities or burdens that come with them. If your work isn’t bringing you a sense of community and satisfaction, it may be time to move along to something more your speed so that you can really get to work and generate cash in a way that feels authentic.

Libra

There’s a saying, Libra: “If you stay ready, you never have to get ready.” Financially, 2020 continues with some instability due to Uranus in Taurus opposing your Money Sector. Debt and income may spin up and down like the Wheel of Fortune in the tarot deck, meaning you have to stay ready for the unexpected at all times.

Mars rules over your House of Money, and this year, he’ll be going on a retrograde journey starting from July through until January of 2021. Be extra cautious around investments and financial agreements you enter into during this time, especially if they involve close relationships. Since Mars rules action and drive, you may find that the energy you had to generate income and collaborate with others comes to a stand still that creates frustration. Patience will be your best friend this year, so no jumping into risky deals because there’s no guarantee the Wheel of Fortune will turn in your favor. Make a plan, make a back up plan, and then have another one in your back pocket just in case.

Scorpio

In order to work your money magic, Scorpio, you have to get into the habit of chatting yourself up in 2020. Jupiter, the ruler of your Money Sector, will be drawing in abundance via your phone contacts, social media, siblings, close friends, and local haunts. If you’re trying to promote yourself, put the word out in your neighborhood. As old school as it seems, you’d be surprised who’s looking out for talent using more traditional methods. When Saturn moves into Aquarius in March, you may find that working from home is a valuable option that allows you to economize and also gain support from those living near you. There’s a saying, Scorpio: “It takes a village." Try relying on your personal village this year and see how it works in your favor.

Sagittarius

Chances are that 2019 was humbling for you with the heavy line up of Capricorn planets in your House of Money. Between Pluto, Saturn, and the South Node, the main theme of the last year has been about cleaning up your financial house and making do with less. Tightening up can be hard for a sign that’s used to going big and spending even bigger, but 2020 will demand that you grit your teeth and remain on top of your budget. That means checking your balance, and not just crossing your fingers that you hopefully have enough when you make a purchase.

You should feel a shift when the ruler of your Money Sector, Saturn, dips into Aquarius from March 22nd until July 1st, giving you a reprieve from the penny-pinching crunch. Use that time to market yourself and your skills. The saying is that "closed mouths don’t get fed," so speak up. Money can come in via communication, your siblings or close friends, domestic travel and educational pursuits.

Capricorn

2020 is all about owning your authority and sense of self worth when it comes to all things finances. You’ll be needed this mindset when Saturn, your ruling planet, leaves Capricorn for Aquarius and enters your House of Money and Self Worth in March. When Saturn enters any House, he wants us to check the underlying foundations for soundness. If you’ve been mismanaging your funds, he may drop the proverbial hammer and demand that you get your house in order. If you’ve been responsible, you could find that you take on more responsibility in this area of your life by investing in major purchases that reflect your financial abundance. Another possibility is that you’ll find that more money is leaving your account due to sudden but necessary expenses. Whatever the scenario, remember that the best way to take control is to own your authority and the ability to make it work.
