So, you’ve been following the latest fashion trends like a hawk, and are probably in the process of updating your wardrobe with key pieces, now that spring is about to hit. But that warm weather, and extra hour or sunshine also means that it’s time to brighten up your place. Enter, this season's major trend that's not just for your clothes: neon!
Most of us may be wary of using blindingly colored furnishings for the interior of our home, but as long as you adhere to a few less-is-more rules when adding super-saturated decor, neon pinks, greens, and blues can leave your apartment looking cool, sophisticated, and on trend.
Rule numero uno: Don’t overdo it. The exception is only if you’re going for a Jonathan Adler or Kelly Wearstler look. Numero dos: Balance. Try to keep everything else in the space fairly neutral, or at least in the same color family (i.e., stick to shades of gray and white) to offset your new neon pink sofa. Tres: Don’t be afraid to experiment. Purchase a shocking green lamp and test it out to see if it works on the nightstand in your bedroom. It might look awesome, and if not, you can always return it. Browse through our bright ideas to dress up your space and start experimenting, pronto.
