Today, however, the network confirmed Allison Williams will star in the title role. She joins Christopher Walken, who will play Captain Hook. And, we're pretty excited to see this gender-bending performance.
Williams released a press statement about her new role: “I have wanted to play Peter Pan since I was about three years old, so this is a dream come true. It’s such an honor to be a part of this adventure, and I’m very excited to get to work with this extraordinarily talented team. And besides, what could go wrong in a live televised production with simultaneous flying, sword fighting, and singing?”
It seems fitting that the actress who so often plays a girl who struggles with adulthood would play a boy who wishes he would never have to grow up at all. You can catch Williams in the live show on December 4. (Entertainment Weekly)
