Our Technology Addictions Are Taking Years Off Our Lives, Literally

Looks like Molly isn't the only thing that twentysomethings are currently abusing. An article today's Metro claims that more than 56 percent of adults spend seven hours each day looking at the screens of electronic devices ranging from smartphones to televisions to tablets. All of those hours really add up — to the tune of about 23 years for each person. That is a lot of 'gramming, you guys.
Even more alarming? Thirty percent of young people between the ages of 18 and 24 devote upwards of twelve hours a day using electronics (yep, that sounds about right). That's definitely more time than most of us spend sleeping each night. Looks like in a few years we will just be one and the same with our Macbook screens. Depressing, yes — but maybe it's just the future calling? (Metro)
