While heading to the Mid-Market ‘hood after-hours might not sound that appealing—what with Sixth Street’s perpetual skeeziness lurking nearby—one new bar and resto is looking to change all that. Meet AQ, the brainchild of former East Coaster Matt Semmelhack and chef Mark Liberman, which is adding a heavy dose of sexy to the corner of Mission and 7th. Outfitted in exposed brick, with a gleaming copper bar, soaring ceilings, an open kitchen, and two floors of seating, the sprawling space—which opens this week—is as sultry as it is tasty, thanks to a constantly updated farmers’ market-inspired menu. So, just how should you dress on your first AQ outing? We've assembled the five key sartorial ingredients to creating an awesome and appropriately seasonal outfit here. Just mix and go!
AQ, 1085 Mission Street (between 6th and 7th streets); 415-341-9000.
