When you think of giant, corporate chain stores, you think of imposing, street-blocking construction projects that lengthen your morning commute by about half an hour. Because what we love, really, is for Michigan Avenue to have a giant tractor sprawled across two lanes of traffic. Topshop would never do such a thing to us. It loves us too much! As the bars were closing last night, Topshop got to work, accepting a delivery the size of your apartment. The store's escalators came in (thankfully, those gross Borders versions were done away with), and all was quietly tucked away inside under the cover of darkness. Drive on Chicago, drive on.
